Smooth Blue Aster has a shallow roots produce rhizomes that spread slowly over time, forming a small colony of dense foliage and flowers at 3-4′ tall. Dry to medium moist soil.
Leaves are smooth to the touch, which is where it gets name.
Host for the Pearl Crescent butterfly.
