Great for baking. Golden Delicious is often used for baking as well as fresh eating. It is a popular home orchard cultivar.
Average, well-drained soil is best; enriched soil is better. The growth rate is moderate.
Mid-May white flowers.
Golden Delicious do best with good air circulation through its branches, it is not recommended to allow these to grow in the shade or around taller trees, even for a few hours a day of shade.
Prone to apple scab. It may also be susceptible to powdery mildew, apple canker, or honey (root) fungus.
