The hay-scented fern is a deciduous fern that grows from underground stems called rhizomes. When crushed the fern releases the scent of mowed hay, giving it the common name of Hay-scented fern. Medium green foliage.
Easy to grow, and spreads to form a nice ground cover
Perfect addition to a woodland garden
Deer and rabbit-resistant, plant near gardens to deter deer
Needs full to partial shade, and moist, well-drained (acidic) soil, but fairly easy to establish, and will spread (so give it some room)
