A vigorous spreader, and quite cold hardy. Upright culms and very dense foliage make this a particularly good species for use as a hedge, screen, or windbreak. Quite tolerant of shade, for a Phyllostachys species. Wood is considered relatively strong; shoots are edible and of good quality. Reported to grow nearly twice as large as the listed size in the southeastern U.S., although it may be a different form of this species.
We can only ship bamboo plants up to 5-7′ tall. Additionally, depending on the stage of growth of the plants, often in late June when new growth hardens off, we can offer taller sizes for local pickup or delivery.
If we receive an order for taller sizes without an e-mail about pickup or delivery, we will ship 5-7′ tall plants and issue a refund for the difference.
Note: For quantity or wholesale pricing, or if you need to schedule a delivery or wish to pick up plants at the farm (whenever possible, it is preferable to pick up plants here at the farm so we can dig huskier rootballs), e-mail us at: Info@tripplebrookfarm.com.
