This native and useful pollinator plant is uniquely attractive with a mound of deep orange flat-topped, two-toned blossoms (up to 5″ across). The copious amounts of nectar it provides to butterflies give it the common name ‘butterfly milkweed’. It forms a bushy shape and also can be used in borders.
Full sun, attracts butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees.
Deer resistant, rabbit resistant, drought tolerant
Easy to grow, handles poor soil well, dry to medium conditions, average soils. Will re-seed.
