Meehan's mint; creeping mint

native, ground cover, rock garden, part shade
PA to NC and TN

This elegant woodland creeper is little-known as a garden subject. The rough-textured, leathery leaves are heart-shaped and evergreen or semi-evergreen. Spreads medium-slowly, forming a dense mat. Bears an abundance of charming purple flowers in early summer. Can provide an appealing, reliable, and unusual ground cover for partly shaded locations with good soil which is not too dry.
